Our History

San Carlos Estates Water Control District (SCEWCD) was formed based on a court ruling of the Twelfth Judicial Circuit Court in Lee County, Florida on April 3rd, 1969 Case No. 69+105 and pursuant the Florida statute 298 otherwise known as the General Drainage Law. Making San Carlos Estates Water Control District responsible for the maintenance and integrity of its streets, swales, culverts, inlets, catch basins, grates, pipes and canals, collectively known as the “Right of Way.”
